How buying online works
Firearms ship to a licensed dealer near you that you pick at checkout. Accessories and most ammunition ship to your door. Here is every step, what the emails mean, and the state rules checkout applies.
- 1Buy it. Add to cart and check out. Firearms and suppressors need an adult signature on delivery to a dealer; accessories ship to your door.
- 2Pick your dealer. At checkout choose any licensed dealer (FFL) near you and we ship it there.
- 3Pick it up. FFL orders ship within 2 business days once your FFL is on file. Bring your ID, pass the standard background check, and take it home.

Before you order
- You must be 18 or older to buy a long gun and 21 or older to buy a handgun, a suppressor or handgun ammunition. Check your state and local laws; the restrictions by state are at the bottom of this page.
- Firearms cannot ship to a home address. At checkout you pick a receiving dealer, any licensed FFL near you, and we ship it there. Live near Dallas? You can pick our shop instead; pickups are by appointment.
- A few states require permit or age checks for ammunition that we can’t do online, so checkout won’t ship ammunition there. The list is at the bottom of this page.
Picking your dealer
- Choose a dealer that is open, accepting transfers, and convenient for you. A quick call to tell them a transfer is coming avoids surprises.
- Transfer fees are set by the receiving dealer and paid to them directly at pickup. They are not in your order total.
- Don’t see your dealer in the list? Have them email their FFL to [email protected]. We add dealers by the next business day.
- Suppressors ship only to dealers with an SOT. We verify that before shipping. Your dealer transfers it to you on a standard 4473 and background check, no Form 4; here is how. Texas residents can pick up at our Dallas shop the same way.
After you order: the emails you get
- Received — we have your order and start getting it ready.
- FFL on file — your dealer is confirmed (or we email you if we still need one).
- Confirmed — your item is reserved for you.
- Shipped — tracking number included.
- Arrived at your FFL / Ready for pickup in Dallas — time to bring your ID.
- Picked up — you are done. We ask for a review a week later.

Shipping and timing
- FFL orders ship within 2 business days once your dealer is on file. Accessory orders ship within 1 business day.
- Firearm shipping is a flat rate per item, from $11.99, shown in your cart before you pay. Tracking is emailed when the carrier scans the package.
- Ammunition ships UPS or FedEx ground to your door. Orders over $100 to a residence need an adult signature and cannot be left at the door. Ammunition to Alaska and Hawaii must go by air, with HazMat fees.
- If an item sells out before it ships, we cancel it and refund you in full.
At pickup
- Bring a valid government-issued photo ID and anything else your state requires.
- Your dealer (or our counter in Dallas) runs the required background check and completes the paperwork before the transfer.
- Inspect the firearm before you accept it. If it is the wrong item or damaged, leave it with the dealer and call us at (800) 657-6891; we take it back at our expense. Once the transfer is complete, the manufacturer’s warranty applies.
Sales are final
All sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges and do not issue refunds, except where required by law or when we cancel an order we cannot fill. Firearm transfers are regulated; once a firearm has been transferred to you at a dealer, it cannot be returned. Ammunition is never returnable, for safety.
Restrictions by state
Checkout applies the rules below on its own: if something in your cart can’t ship to your state, you’ll see why before you pay. Local rules (Denver, Chicago and Cook County, New York City and others) can be stricter, and your receiving dealer can only transfer what’s legal where you live.

To these states we don’t ship magazines over the limit, magazine extensions or drums, a magazine we can’t confirm the capacity of (call us and we’ll check), or a gun that comes with magazines over the limit.

Everywhere else ammunition ships to your door by UPS or FedEx ground: 21+ for handgun and rifle ammunition, 18+ for shotgun.
Suppressors and NFA items
Not legal for civilians in California, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, District of Columbia; checkout won’t send one there. Dallas pickup of suppressors, NFA items and handguns is for Texas residents: federal law lets a dealer hand those over in person only to a resident of its own state. Firearms
Firearms ship only to a licensed dealer (FFL). Several states and cities ban specific models or features (“assault weapon” laws and handgun rosters in states such as California, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York and New Jersey). Ask your dealer before you order; if they can’t legally transfer it, we can’t ship it to them.
Air guns and black-powder firearms
Restricted in Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and New York; check your local laws before ordering. Elsewhere most black-powder firearms ship directly to you.
